Ben HendersonBen started playing the trombone at the age of 11 in Staffordshire. Not too long after this he was accepted into the county youth wind orchestra where he decided to make the change to bass trombone. When the places became vacant, Ben successfully auditioned to be bass trombone in the county orchestra and jazz orchestra. Ben also enjoyed a tour of Canada with the Midlands Youth Orchestra (now City of Birmingham Youth Orchestra).

In 2000, Ben accepted a place to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama for three years, during which he enjoyed lessons/master classes with many of the worlds leading authorities on the trombone, such as Denis Wick, Ian Bousfield, and Christopher Mowat.
Since leaving college, Ben has been teaching in and around Derbyshire. Sadly, performance initially took a back seat to teaching, but now Ben is involved with solo and chamber recitals, bands, orchestras and also a ska band. Despite this heavy involvement in music-making, Ben is always open to more ideas or projects for performance, so please don't hesitate to contact him.
