Don Lusher Competition finalists

The finalists have now been selected for the 2010 Don Lusher Solo Trombone Competition for Young Tenor Trombonists. Congralulations go to:

     Steve Sykes

     Zebedee Tonkin

     Faye Treacy

The judges in this taped-submission round were: Bill Geldard, Gordon Campbell and Mark Nightingale. There was a tie on the third place, so the judges agreed that four players could compete in the final.

The top prize is a top-of-the-range Yamaha Xeno trombone and the Don Lusher Trophy, presented by Diana Lusher. Second prize is a Yamaha Silent Brass System and third and fourth receive Yamaha Accessory Packs. The BTS is most grateful to Yamaha for supporting young trombonists and the memory of Don Lusher in this way.

Bob Hughes has been in touch with all four finalists and says that they are delighted to be coming to Birmingham for the final, which takes place on Sunday May 9th during the BTS Trombone Day at Birmingham Conservatoire .
