Known for their slick performances, commitment to new music and being musical ambassadors the world-over, the Fine Arts Brass have proved one of the most successful brass groups in the UK and are still going strong as they celebrate their 25th birthday. The quintet will play a concert in the building where they originally rehearsed 25 years ago in Birmingham and from which the quintet took their name - the Barber Institute of Fine Arts.  The concert will feature one of the great composers for brass, Malcolm Arnold who is celebrating his 85th birthday year, and both his original Brass Quintet and his second Quintet that FAB commissioned. The quintet will expand to a 10-piece using former members of the ensemble, to perform Arnold's Symphony for Brass. They will also give the premiere of a new piece by Stephen Roberts called 'Breathless' which will pay tribute to the 'racy style of the ensemble' and also the late Maynard Ferguson.
