Dartington bursaries still available

Bursaries are still available for trombonists to attend Dartington International Summer School this summer. Deserving cases, such as students, are invited to apply for the financial assistence to attend courses such as Early Brass and Advanced Brass Chamber Music, coached by the likes of Sue Addison, John Kenny and Fine Arts Brass (pictured).

Dartington provides five weeks of music courses and concerts in the beautiful grounds of an estate in (usually!) sunny Devon, with coaching performances from celebrated professional musicians. The participants are a mix of adult amateurs and young people and many courses are enriched by advanced students and young professionals who are supported by bursaries which cover from 25% to 100% of costs.

if there are any deserving wind/brass players out there who don’t mind blowing their own trumpet and filling in a financial assistance application, then we will be happy to consider you. For further details, please email summerschool@dartington.org

Here is the list of courses for which financial assistence is still available:

In weeks 1 & 2 'Early Brass' course, with places available for cornetts, sackbuts and bass sackbuts in week 1, and for trumpets and trombones in the 2nd week.

In week 3 there are places left for trombones, trumpets, sax and horns, with
these spaces being affiliated to no particular course, but John Kenny, Paul Archibald and Julian Baker are running classes for the brass.

In week 5 we have places for trombones, trumpets, horns and tubas as part of
the 'Advanced Brass Chamber Music' course, run by Fine Arts Brass.
