Lake District Music’s annual day of community music-making is back, focusing this season on the incredible traditions and music written for brass ensembles. Lake District Music wishes to welcome young and amateur brass players to take part in our third annual community event on Saturday, 25 May.
Celebrating Gustav Holst’s 150th anniversary, participants will explore:
Holst The Perfect Fool
Holst A Moorside Suite
Holst Jupiter from The Planets
The day will be under the direction of conductor & cellist Stephen Threlfall, Artistic Director of LDSM, plus guest performers London Central Brass Quintet.
During the day there will be sectional rehearsals led by guests leaders and the event will culminate not only in an informal performance for family and friends at 3.15pm, but a celebrity performance by Peter Moore (former BBC Young Musician of the Year and Principal Trombone of the London Symphony Orchestra) at 4.30pm.
