Baker takes the reins at Elland

Congratulations to Brett Baker on his appointment as Musical Director of Elland Silver Band.

Currently Principal Trombone of Black Dyke Band, Brett will take on the role at Elland Silver Band with immediate effect, whilst continuing to fulfil several commitments with Black Dyke Band in January. He will then be stepping down from his regular position with the band. He will continue as MD with Poulton Le Fylde Band near Blackpool.

Brett commented 'I have played with Black Dyke Band for half of the time I have been alive and very much want to thank the band and Nicholas Child’s for some amazing performance experiences over two and a half decades. This a wonderful opportunity to work with a young band that has exciting ambitions and an impressive track record. I am really looking forward to the opportunity of conducting Elland and preparing the band for the contests and concerts coming up in 2024.'
