Sackbuts and baroque trombones

Calling all sackbut and baroque trombone enthusiasts! You might be interested to learn of a brand new Masters-level degree course for baroque trombone, which will ruade via then at the Utrecht Conservatory, Netherlands from September 2012.This new postgraduate course runs officially over a two year period. Each year students will receive 30 hours of individual tuition, as well as opportunities for solo and chamber music playing in various contexts, both with other sackbuts and also students from the Historical Performance faculty. The course will include guidance in research, editing and transcription as well as performance styles and techniques. Applications should be m Utrecht Conservatory.

On Saturday 19 May 2012, there will also be a 'Contact Day' held at the Conservatory with members of the Caecilia-Concert as part of a weekend course running in association with the launch of their forthcoming CD Castello & Co.. There will be opportunities during the Contact Day for individual lessons and to discuss following the Masters course. Although this will be after the official application date, there will be exceptions made for late applications/auditions.
