Summer School Vacancy

The Rehearsal Orchestra is a musical charity that runs weekend and full-week orchestral courses for serious amateurs and future professionals. It offers high-level training through intensive rehearsal, exploring the core orchestral repertoire under the batons of prominent conductors.

The Rehearsal Orchestra has a vacancy for a Tenor Trombone at their Edinburgh Summer School.

The course runs from Saturday 6th August to Friday 12th August inclusive, with rehearsals mostly during the day and the evenings left free for exploration of the city and the Festival/Fringe.

They have some great rep lined up, including Janacek Cunning Little Vixen Suite, Mahler Symphony no 5, Shostakovich Symphony no 5 and Stravinsky Symphonies of Wind Instruments.
Accommodation is provided in self-catering apartments nearby.

It’s usually a hardworking but rewarding week with a lovely atmosphere. Fees negotiable at this fairly late stage. The course attracts a good mix of conservatoire/university students and good amateurs of all ages.

Players should be at least Grade 8 standard with good sight-reading.
