We welcome Alex Kelly to the team as our man in Scotland!

Alexander is the Principal Bass Trombone in the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

He has worked with most of the UK's professional orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Philharmonia Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Hallé Orchestra to name but a few.

Alexander studied for an undergraduate degree at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Bob Hughes and Keith McNichol, followed by a Masters degree at the Royal College of Music with Dave Stewart and Paul Milner. During his studies, Alex won the John Solomon Brass Prize at the Royal Academy of Music and was the Principal Bass Trombone in the European Union Youth Orchestra, a position he held for four consecutive years.

In 2012 Alex won the Brass Category of the BBC Young Musician of the Year whilst studying at Chethams School of Music in Manchester. Alex is currently a Professor at the Royal Scottish Conservatoire and a trombone teacher at Douglas Academy. In his free time, Alex volunteers with the Air Cadets and fervently supports his beloved, albeit struggling football team, Manchester United.
