Katy Jones - Principal Trombone of the Hallé Orchestra:
Katyڈs career as a musician has taken her all over the world, performing in concert halls from Japan and Korea, to the USA and Morocco. Previously Co-Principal Trombone with the London Symphony Orchestra (the first female brass principal in the history of the orchestra) she has also appeared on soundtracks for over 50 feature films and video games, including Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith and several of the Harry Potter series.

Dávur Juul Magnussen - Principal Trombone of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra:
Dávur is a Faroese trombonist from Tórshavn, who now lives in Scotland; In 2008, following studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, Dávur was appointed as the principal trombone chair of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra; At the age of 22, Dàvur was the youngest player in the RSNO; Dávur had initially intended to study the saxophone but thankfully ended up having to play the trombone. Although the trombone was not Dávur's instrument of choice he has flourished as a trombonist and is considered to be one of the finest players of his generation.

Trombone section of the Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band:
The Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Brass Band is one of the worldڈs top 10 brass bands and is based in South Elmsall, Yorkshire; The band has built a reputation as a fine concert band through a combinaàon of innovaàve programmes partnered with quality of performance and regularly competes throughout England and Europe; As we all know, the trombone section is the beating heart of any ensemble and we are delighted to welcome the tour de force that is CMFC's Trombone Section, Joe Hearaield, Richard Windle and Phil Spencer to perform for you today.

Inslide-Out:
Inslide-Out is an innovative and dynamic trombone quartet dedicated to pushing the boundaries of tradiàonal brass music; The members of the quartet - Emma Close, Gregor Dowall, Robbie Dowall and Savvas Athanasiou are students studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. They are building a strong reputaàon for their excellent musicianship and exciting programmes.

Alison Gill – piano accompanist
We are delighted to have Alison Gill as our piano accompanist for today's event; Alison graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, specialising in piano accompanist; She is an accompanist in residence for the Chorus of the Royal Northern Sinfonia, Voices of Hope, Jervaulx Singers and for Come and Sing Days led by John Rutter, Bob Chilcott and Eriks Esenvald.

12.45 - Lunch Break (BYO) & informal recital by RCS Quartet: Insliders
13.30 - Katy Jones: Presentation on breathing techniques
14.15 - Masterclasses: Harriet Master (RNCM) and Tim Jeffers (local student) – Dávur to lead
15.00 - Short Recital: Ben Moss (RNCM)
15.20 - Recital: Dávur Juul Magnussen
16.00 - Carlton Main Colliery Band Trombone Section: Presentation/Recital on section playing in a brass band.
16.45 - Final Play
17.00 - Finish
