Sue is recognised as one of the world’s leading exponents of the historic trombones.

She currently plays principal trombone with the Academy of Ancient Music, The Sixteen, Gabrieli Consort and Players and the Hanover Band.

Her experience ranges from being a full-time member of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under the directorship of Sir Simon Rattle to recording for the BBC Comedy “The Two Ronnies .”

Former principal and founder member of The Age of Enlightenment., The Orchestra of the Eighteen Century, Monteverdi Choir and Orchestra and The London Classical Players.

She is also a founder member and continues to be involved in some ground breaking projects with  His Majesties Sagbutts and Cornetts, The Queen Victoria Consort and The Concert Trombone Quartette.

She is currently professor of the Baroque trombone at the Royal College of Music. Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and The Royal Northern College of Music.

She has given masterclasses at The Hague Conservatoire, Mannes College of Music New York and the Sydney Conservatoire of Music.
